Abstract
The study also identifies poverty, inadequate educational facilities, irregular school attendance, and lack of parental awareness as major factors contributing to low literacy levels. Despite government initiatives and schemes, the progress of literacy in the village remains uneven. The research highlights the need for strengthened community involvement, targeted awareness programmes, and improvement in school infrastructure to enhance educational participation.
Overall, the study provides a foundational understanding of the literacy landscape in Girdharpur and suggests pathways for effective local-level educational planning and policy intervention.
